Silk Road Café
Now with two locations, you can enjoy our “East Meets West” cuisine wherever you are in Luang Prabang. Enjoy amazing views over the Mekong at our Living Crafts Centre location or people-watch in the town centre at the Heritage Shop Garden.
Food is an important part of Lao culture and is represented in many varied and eclectic cooking styles. Our aim is to showcase the highlights, using only the freshest ingredients sourced from our own garden, the Living Land Project and the nearby open market.

Signature main dishes include Tamarind Fish Cakes, Moroccan Style Grilled Fish, and Knap Paa, a fish filet with lemongrass and Asian basil grilled in a banana leaf. End your meal with something sweet – try our Home-made Ice Cream!
You can enjoy dinner and a movie along the Mekong River two Thursdays per the month. The evening offers a free pickup, entree and dessert from a special menu, Silk Road spiced popcorn and the movie.

The café has hosted a variety of special occasions including movie nights, traditional music and dance shows and Lao Baci ceremonies.
