Our Living Crafts Centre, set on the banks of the Mekong River, is the perfect place to spend the day for visitors of all ages. There is something for everyone: from our free 30 minute tour where you learn about process and techniques of creating Lao weavings including the making the silk yarn, natural dyes, and the weaving process, to engaging and creative classes, to browsing our Flagship Shop, to enjoying a relaxing meal or sipping a cocktail on the Mekong Terrasse in our Silk Road Café, with one of the best views in town. Our Living Crafts Centre Flagship Shop houses selections from both Heritage and Boutique collections – making sure that all visitors to the Centre will have the opportunity to see items across all of our collections. The Flagship Shop has a specific focus on the textiles woven by the onsite weavers – what better way to experience fair trade than to meet the artisan who created your new purchase!

The Heritage Shop is the place to see high quality Lao textile traditions and the weaving techniques that we strive to keep alive for future generations. From our traditional Lao sinhs rich in meaningful motifs and always in style, to our Master Weaver’s room filled with the finest weaves, to our Village Weaver Projects room. Enjoy a short free tour where you learn about the traditions and techniques of Lao weavings and their cultural significance and take a trip through Laos and discover the different regions of the country through their textile traditions. Our Heritage shop is the place to experience the unique and diverse beauty of Lao textiles.
