Our Living Crafts Centre, set on the banks of the stunning Mekong River, is the perfect place to spend some time for visitors of all ages. Here you will find something for everyone! You can enjoy our free 30 minute tour of the centre where you'll observe the weavers at work and marvel at the complex techniques they use. You'll learn how silk is made from cocoon to yarn, watch the batik master at work and be shown where the beautiful natural dye colors come from. If you have more time you can take our half day or full day workshops in batik, weaving, dyeing or bamboo. You are welcome to browse our Flagship Shop which houses selections from both the Heritage and Boutique collections. Here you will have the opportunity to see items across all of our collections. The Flagship Shop has a specific focus on the textiles woven by the onsite weavers. What better way to experience fair trade than to meet the artisan who created your new purchase! End your time by enjoying a relaxing meal or cocktail on the Mekong Terrace in our Silk Road Café with one of the best views in town. Downstairs are articles from the Village Weaver Projects from all over Laos. This way you can take a virtual trip through Laos and discover the variety of regions in the country through their textile traditions.
