What our Visitors had to say…
“I read about Ock Pop Tok for days trying to decide if I wanted to sign up for a class. I just couldn’t decide if it’d be worth the money or if I would even be any good at weaving. I finally signed up and I can’t say enough times how incredible it was. I would give this place 100 stars if I could! If you’re on the fence and reading reviews, I highly recommend you just sign up for a class right now!”

“We loved the experience with our two kids ages 7 and 10 doing the natural dyes afternoon workshop. We learned a lot about silkworms, natural dyes and weaving. The workshop is very hands-on and our kids got to do everything on their own which they loved. The setting, cafe and shop are all beautiful and made for a peaceful and enjoyable afternoon on the Mekong. Great experience!”
Cerise S. January, 2018
“Fantastic explanations, demonstrations of silk making and weaving. Food and view is tops. I’m a repeat visitor, and always take people here, and learn something new myself each time!”
Yanaye. December, 2017
“My son went to the half day batik art workshop. He thoroughly enjoyed it. We also went to the movie night. It included a delicious meal, and afterwards we sat comfortably to watch the Tom Hanks movie ‘Sully’ in the open air. The sound system was good too. It’s really a lovely way to spend an evening”
Laikakee. December, 2017.
“You get to experience the entire process, spinning the yarn, weaving the main fabric and completing a pattern. I have new found respect for the skills of the masters – but you are helped the whole way and if I was happy with my scarf I am ecstatic with my hanging. A big thank you to everyone at Ock Pop Tok, I absolutely loved the day and would highly recommend it to anyone”
Jake. November, 2017
“We ate at the Silk Road Cafe on the Mekong River. The food was excellent, and the service was provided at a higher level than we have seen in other restaurants in our three weeks in Luang Prabang. Beautiful presentation of food and a creative menu”
Alexandrina. December, 2017
“We stayed at the Mekong Villa twice during our travels in Laos and absolutely loved the place! We had a suite room overlooking the Mekong, which was charming, spotlessly clean, spacious and had everything we needed…One of the most memorable parts of our time at Ock Pop was the staff and their warm, friendly and polite service – a pleasure to be there”
Gill. October, 2017
“This place. Wow. Beautiful views of the Mekong, stunning rooms, the friendliest staff in such a unique and incredible setting. We had such a relaxing stay.”
